At Trans Ash, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional work for complex construction projects, coal combustion residuals (CCR) management services, and maintenance operations. Our vast experience comes from thinking outside the box, and we’re committed to coming up with new and creative solutions to meet and exceed our customers’ needs.

Why Trans Ash?

Trans Ash was founded by Gerbus Brothers Construction in Cincinnati, Ohio. We performed our first coal ash basin clean-out in 1970 and have been providing CCR-related services to the utility industry ever since.

Although many CCR businesses provide labor, material, and equipment, it’s our experience and expertise that sets us apart. We’re able to go the extra mile to provide creative solutions to complex problems, adapt quickly to customers’ needs, and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

At Trans Ash, we have a reliable team that’s dedicated to doing the work for you and are flexible and innovative enough to tackle unknown and changing conditions.

We’re not just a specialty services company, but we’ve gone back to our roots of performing traditional civil construction work as well. Our construction services include:

  • Site preparation for commercial and industrial development
  • Mass earthwork and slope stabilization
  • Dredging of water ponds, freshwater reservoirs, and lagoons
  • Erosion and sediment controls
  • Utilities, power generation services, and plant support
  • Engineering and surveying

American Coal Ash Association

The American Coal Ash Association, established in 1968, is a nonprofit trade association devoted to recycling the materials created when we burn coal to generate electricity. Our members comprise the world's foremost experts on coal ash (fly ash and bottom ash), and boiler slag, flue gas desulfurization gypsum (FGD or "synthetic" gypsum), and other flue gas materials captured by emissions controls.
